Tracing over Edward Hopper's painting "Gas" in Adobe Illustrator, by using only the "geometrical shape" tool.
This digital drawing is made by tracing over the painting "Gas" with only 3 geometrical shapes (squares, rectangles, circles and rectangles with pointed angles). Then I coloured in these shapes using different colours and values from the original colour palette (green, light blue, grey and light brown).
The original painting had lots of visual elements and details which I have not traced over; I kept only the basic elements and shapes (such as the trees and the sky in the background, the gas station on the right and the man standing at the center of the picture), so that the final result would be a clear, plain and basic image.
And here is the final result, compared to the original painting.
