many 3D platforms showcase plenty of asset collections where artists attempt to represent classic optical illusions (originally represented as 2D paintings) in a 3D space. Because of their "impossible" nature of these objects, 3D representations of them fail to create the visual illusion originally shown in the painting, and instead only reveal "the trick" behind the visual illusion.
is there a possible alternative to this? Is there a way to use 3D models as a means of enhancing the 2D, flat painting illusion??
In the case of this model, for example, https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/optical-illusion-2d-3d-33df14c881da42189fd75cb7239d12a2 (see image below as well) the model looks like a perfect reproduction of an impossible triangle. However when orbiting around the object, we notice how the illusion is created by layering several planes and objects together.
Front view of the model - looks like a full object
By orbiting left around the object, we see how the object is open, and the illusion of an impossible object only works if we see it from a specific point of view, when the 2 ends of the triangle seem to meet.
More of these objects can be found at the following link https://sketchfab.com/search?q=optical+illusion&type=models
