  • data-driven design (preferencing things already emerged in research and driven by statistics)

  • A2: explore practical media to apply your thoughts an engage with your feelings. A3: narrow down to one or a couple of best media and ideas, to develop as a finished product into A4


  • A2: devleoping, iteration of A1. one prototype documentaiton, or a body of prototypes. KEYWORD = EXPLORATION. Add software intergration in this assignment. Investigate new territories. Explorations of connections (mind maps, colour maps, data visualisation etc. used to plan, layout investigation and process. This is one design output for this course) What is an environment to you?? Output is to create something that has environmental qualities (and what these qualities mean to you, both subjectively and objectively). Environmental qualities (characteristics of that specific environment which make it different from others): space, boundaries, components, subjects and objects and relationships between them, physical, digital and psychological connections going on between these components, balance between all elements of the environment, chaos and disorder, materials, textures, temporal aspect typical of that environment, (metaphors to other environments???).

  • subjective qualities of environment: our understanding of environment

  • objective qualities of environment: measurable qualities of environment.

  • types of environments: sensorial, psychological, physical, digital, temporal, spatial, biological, geographical, emotional,

  • Is our response to the environment, our observation of the environments and out understanding of the environment, do these topics influence/affect the environment, or are they part of the environment itself?
